Magic Cube Games Confirm Touch Controls for xCloud

Yesterday we reviewed the fantastic Indie Game Merge & Blade currently available on Xbox, PC & Game Pass.

We absolutely loved the visual design of the game, the retro sounding soundtrack & the addicting gameplay loop. It combines Tetris, Candy Crush & Xcom for a surprisingly deep game.

One of the only complaints about the game was the lack of touch controls available via xCloud.

If you are unaware xCloud offers a large array of games that can be played via touch controls for seamless cloud gaming. Some games work much better than others, and Merge & Blade seemed to be the perfect match.

Today, in response to our review, Magic Cube have confirmed they are working on touch controls for Merge & Blade after more people played the game than initially expected.

They tweeted to say,

“We are working hard to support Cloud Touch in the next update.

We are also preparing a large-scale update. 2 new modes added to roguelike.

More than 7 characters for roguelike will be added.”

With the addition of xCloud touch support, additional modes & fixes coming shortly Merge & Blade is going to be in an even better shape than it already is

Magic Cube went on to say “Because of the game pass, more people are flowing in than expected. We are preparing a lot for them.”

Proof again that Xbox Game Pass really is a fantastic offering for gamers, developers and publishers.

Merge & Blade is a sleeper hit, that I will personally be playing for months to come. Knowing that Game Pass is allowing them to make wholesale changes to the game, while Magic Cube listen to the feedback of the audience, shows just how good things can be at Xbox.
