‎SEGA announces the monkey-like return of Beat, the laid-back “Rudie” and protgaonist from cult classic Jet Set Radio™ as a playable character in SEGA’s ‎‎Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania.‎‎ It will be available for release as an unlockable character as early as October 5. ‎

Jet Set Radio, the 2000 Dreamcast ™ classic, introduced Beat and the anti-establishment GG’s, a rebellious street gang of graffiti artists founded to fight for free speech. ‎‎ ‎

‎Now Beat brings his typical flair, carefreeness and inline skating skills to the world of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania – as a playable character. It can be unlocked using gameplay. ‎
‎Beat is classically conceived and wears his distinctive green glasses, soundwave lenses, oversized headphones and the same magnetic skates with which he usually glides and grinds through the futuristic streets of Tokyo-to.


‎Instead of bananas, players use Beat to collect paint spray cans as they roll, tilt and hop through the wondrous worlds of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. Beat is the first of several iconic guest characters to join the monkey gang ‎‎in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania.‎‎ ‎

Super ‎‎Monkey Ball Banana Mania ‎‎is coming to stores on October 5 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®5, and PlayStation®4. ‎

‎A digital version for THE PC will be released on Steam. The Xbox One version supports Xbox Series X Smart Delivery. An upgrade path is also provided for the PlayStation consoles.‎
