There is an issue that seems to be ignored by a lot of people including higher up officials at Xbox. As gamers we need problem’s addressed and quickly with clear lines on those affected and how the problem is going to be solved.
People who have bought Xbox Series X consoles recently have been plagued by a bug that prevents them from playing Xbox 360 games via Backwards Compatibility. This is on Disc and downloaded titles. Cloud gaming seems un affected. I myself am going through this and for a lot of us its radio silence on updates.
This is a feature that is part and parcel of our experience.
Xbox did acknowledge the issue with the following
“We’re aware of ongoing reports where Xbox 360 packward-compatible games are not aunching or downloading on newly purchased Xbox Series X consoles. and this has been identified as a service-side issue not something that can be resolved through console troubleshooting
Please be assured that this is being activelv investigated by the appropriate teams, as we understand backward compatibility is a core feature and an important part of vour purchase decision. Once the service issue is resolved, your console should be able ta play supported Xbox 360 titles without requiring any changes on your end”
However a week later some of us are getting this response
“I Would like to confirm that Xbox 360 version games are only fully supported to connect to Xbox Live when directly played on the 360 console”
This is not good enough. We are basically being told to go and get an Xbox 360. But some of us have done it and guess what?
It still doesn’t work.
I’ve been Xbox since 2005. I sold my last Series X im February as I felt I wasn’t playing it enough but I got it back with Forza Horzion 6 coming out. How is this fair on us?
