Playground Productions, a children’s and family entertainment company, along with creative-first indie publisher and developer Mega Cat Studios, are thrilled to announce that Backyard Baseball will arrive on PC, Mac, and modern consoles on July 9, 2026.
Announced during today’s IGN Fan Fest, Backyard Baseball is an all-new installment in the fan-favorite franchise. The first new title in the series to hit consoles in 15 years, this entry swings for the fences, bringing the entire backyard gang—including backyard legend Pablo Sanchez–into the third dimension while incorporating 2D elements to heighten the nostalgia.
In addition to the overhauled visuals, Backyard Baseball is poised to deliver a grand slam for fans of the series, offering updated gameplay mechanics and expanded modes, making it the most ambitious entry in the long-running series to date.
