Are you fed up with micro-transactions? Are you trying to find a way unleash your frustration on them besides “talking with your wallet”? Well thanks to Numskull Games and Undercoders, you’ll be able to defeat micro-transactions in SuperEpic.
Announced this morning, and developed by Undercoders, SuperEpic is a Metroidvania action style game with heavy focus on exploration and depends on combo-based combat to survive…and features a racoon and a llama on a quest to save videogames! SuperEpic features an economy based upgrading system which rewards you based on your combat performance. Players then decide how to invest it: Health, Magic or Stamina. Not only can players upgrade their skills, but they can also upgrade their equipment (weapon and armor).
And once you’re done with the story, you can tackle a roguelike mode with procedurally generated maps to re-experience the game in an infinite amount of ways. Undercoders also brings a cross media experience to the game by adding hidden QR codes which launches HTML5 based mini games which needs to be done via a mobile device in order to unlock new content in the main game.
Here’s a synopsis of the game:
The adventure is set on a non-distant future dystopia, where a single videogame development company, Regnantcorp, controls an orwellian society by creating addiction to their free games. Ramming into their headquarters, the heroes uncover the whole conspiracy as they explore a surreal castle-like office full of enemies, challenges, secrets and corporate pigs.
SuperEpic is set for a December release on Xbox One.
