We love success stories here at Complete Xbox and we need them more than ever with so much negative press with layoffs and studio closures over the last 12-18 months. As many know I have been following the journey of the development team Digital Cybercherries over the last few years, especially transitioning their game from Windows PC to the Xbox family of consoles. It has been a tough road for the six man indie team and you can read my analysis on the passion and journey in the article I wrote around 18 months ago (below).

The Journey And Passion Of Hypercharge: Unboxed

The team here at Complete Xbox have had an absolute blast with Hypercharge Unboxed with our close friends Thistle Do live streaming the co-op campaign together, you can find the first episode below.

100,000 Copies Sold!

The team today officially announce that the game has sold over 100,000 copies across Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. Bring with this hundreds of five star reviews on the Xbox storefront and it even achieved a position in the top selling titles on Xbox shortly after launch coming only second to Call Of Duty Modern Warfare III. Joe Henson has explained in recent interviews that the team intends to take a break after all the hard work in the run up to release. Next for them is deploying any bug fixes and the intention is to work on an “Endless” game mode where you and your team try and go as long as possible.

Playstation Port Incoming!

This isn’t the end of the road for Hypercharge Unboxed just yet as it continues to shine on Xbox, a Playstation port is being worked on and the planned window is later in 2024 or early 2025. A sequel hasn’t been ruled out either, so I am excited to see where the Digital Cybercherries adventure lands next. From myself and the Complete Xbox team, I just want to thank Joe and the team for all their support, they have been incredibly accommodating offering insights at the earliest opportunities and we wish them every success going forwards!
