With Neon Inferno’s full release less than two weeks away, publisher Retroware and developer Zenovia Interactive have launched a free demo on the Microsoft Store, giving Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players a chance to shoot and slash their way through an early section of the upcoming cyberpunk run-and-gun adventure from the creators of Steel Assault.

In this demo, players will step into the boots of syndicate assassins Angelo Morano or Mariana Vitti as they carve a bloody swath through a neon-drenched metropolis to bring down their rivals—one bullet at a time. Take on murderous members of New York’s seedy criminal underworld and the heavily-armed NYPD as you hone your lethal skills ahead of the game’s full launch later this month. Master your sharpshooting skills, button-down your bullet time abilities, and get your heart pumping ice water, because Neon Inferno is hot.

Key Features:

  • Shoot close, aim far: a dynamic blend of side-scroller and gallery-shooter, where the action takes place in both foreground and background (like playing Contra and Wild Guns at the same time).
  • Glorious 32-bit Style: A sci-fi cityscape rendered in beautiful pixel art and backed by an evocative soundtrack
  • Two-Player Co-op: With danger lurking around every street corner, wouldn’t you be better off with a friend?
  • Return To Sender: Use your blade to bounce bullets back at your attackers for skillful and stylish takedowns
  • Satisfying Arcade Challenge: Enjoy a playthrough on an easier mode…or put your skills and resilience to the test with 1-credit-clear arcade mode.

Neon Inferno launches digitally on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, on November 20. Pre-orders for the physical release will follow on November 25 through forever physical publisher Limited Run Games. Look for our review in the next few days.
