Independent games publisher Versus Evil and Breadcrumbs Interactive have released a brand new trailer for their upcoming Slavic folktale inspired action RPG, Yaga; which is set to release sometime this fall for Xbox One. The newest video showcases Kikimora.

What’s a Kikimora? In Slavic legend, Kikimoras are female house spirits who enters through the keyhole of a home, sits on the sleeping inhabitants’ chests, and strangles them to death. It was wise to leave a key or piece of paper in your door.

If you kept your house orderly and neat, she may actually help out in the home, taking care of dishes and livestock. If your house was a mess, she would further wreck your home, by breaking dishes, or tangling up your needles and thread. And well considering Ivan’s a blacksmith and not known for keeping a neat and tidy house, he’s kind of screwed.

Yaga tells the story of Ivan who must take on the impossible tasks given to him by the tzar. All the while the mysterious witch, Baba Yaga, watches over Ivan’s fate as he Smashes and clobbers a variety of nefarious monsters and legends inspired by Slavic folk tales.
