Beloved by fans of the original Test Drive Unlimited, Taxi Missions make their long-awaited return. The goal is to transport a passenger to a specific point on the map within a set time limit, maintaining smooth driving to provide the best possible experience for the client and earn Solar Coins. This season also introduces Poker, available in the Casino, where players can bet their virtual currency to win special rewards, including an exclusive car and various cosmetics for both their avatar and vehicles.

On the technical side, the game’s engine (KT Engine) has received a major update on consoles and PC, bringing numerous improvements in both visuals and performance. The update enhances graphical rendering, with special attention given to shadows and shaders. This engine evolution is the culmination of nearly a year of work by the dedicated development team. Additional performance optimizations, particularly regarding framerate, will be rolled out in future seasons.

In terms of player progression, a complete rebalancing of the in-game economy has been implemented, allowing players to earn more Solar Coins in all races. The FRIM system (performing continuous stunts without stopping) has been completely redesigned—it now grants reputation points and Solar Pass XP, with unlimited redeemable rewards. Finally, a new car resale feature has been introduced: resale prices depend on mileage, upgrades, and options installed via the dealership or workshop.

Season 5 marks the beginning of Year 2. The developers continue to work on new content, features, and improvements for the upcoming seasons.

Season 5 new features:

• Taxi Missions, where players must drive passengers to specific destinations on the map.

• New prestigious cars, including the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, Lamborghini Urus Graphite Capsule, De Tomaso P72, and Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

• A complete rebalancing of the in-game economy, with increased race rewards, a revamped FRIM system, and the ability to sell cars based on mileage and specifications.
• A new Solar Pass offering free and premium content, accessible through the game’s new currency, Diamonds, which unlocks new cars, cosmetics, and accessories.
• A new in-game store (available mid-season), allowing players to use Diamonds to purchase exclusive content and weekly rewards.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown (or TDUSC) is a massively open online racing game (M.O.O.R) set on Hong Kong Island and Ibiza city, recreated on a scale of 1/1.
