The game is simple and says it on the tin, collect 50 coins and the exit appears and you have to rush to the end without falling or getting hurt by obstacles and the spike wall chasing you. Each level is filled with trouble and ramps up the further in the levels you get. Spikes create instant death, jumps to clear, and platforms that demand precise timing. You’re trying to move as quick as possible whilst keeping an eye on the coin counter to make sure you can make it on time.

Levels are designed to keep you moving at all times, but sometimes feels very slippery when under timed pressure. You’ll often find yourself dying over and over making choices of do you go for gold near a trap, or play it safe and loop back for easier ones in the hope you have enough. As you progress through the levels you are slowly introduced with new mechanics and the spike wall heading towards you gets slightly quicker. This creep is done very tastefully and doesn’t feel cheap and made for pain but gives you a few moments banging your head because you’ve miscalculated a jump or slowed down too much.

Like most games in this genre the loop is the same try, fail, repeat until it’s perfect. The game is very short in length only offering 40 levels and I can finish it under an hour but at £4.19 it offers something at a smaller price point for those wanting a quick burst or arcade action. Also, if you are into achievements completing all 40 gives you 1000G which is motivation enough for you to try and face your frustrations.
