I’m familiar with FuturLab’s never-ending updates to their flagship franchise. PowerWash Simulator has some weird, wacky, and downright weird moments. However, it is this latest endeavour that will get fans of the series truly excited! PowerWash Simulator 2 is available on Game Pass and can be enjoyed alone, online, or cooperatively on the same screen. I tested them all, and wow! I had a great time.
If you are a fan of this cleaning franchise, you will adore the latest addition. It is more of the same thing, but there are some nice new mechanics, massive stages, and plenty of Easter eggs to enjoy. On top of this, there are new ways to traverse each stage as things explode on an almighty scale!

PowerWash Simulator 2 ups the ante.
I know what you are thinking, “how can cleaning up a mess be fun?”. Well, this would be a valid argument years ago, but this franchise proves that people love this idea. Grabbing your pressure washer, hitting a dirty building, and getting to work is addictive as hell. PowerWash Simulator 2 has upped the ante with its multi-level design, new tools, and interesting, albeit stupid, story.
The action unfolds similarly. You are offered missions as you clean every job you tackle. Vehicles, nightclubs, toilets, fairgrounds, and much more must be cleaned within an inch of their lives. If you miss some dirt, you must use your special cleaning powers to find every dirty corner, doorway, or window. This isn’t that easy when you consider the monstrous buildings and crazy items that must be cleaned.

Base building.
As you explore the vast missions, you’ll get to test out a new soap mechanic and reach new heights with a scissor and seated lift. Both of these tools help you to reach some crazy places that would otherwise be out of reach. The soap mechanic, on the other hand, seems a bit of a cheat code. Your soap dispenser refills over time, and you can spray the heck out of everything in sight.
Although I wasn’t so impressed with the soap tool, I admit to using it during the trickier moments. Furthermore, some of my online buddies got covered in soap just for the hell of it. Another new element that didn’t float my boat was the base building. You earn special points as you complete each mission. These points can be spent on furniture for your base. This was of no interest to me, but I can see people creating insane areas that they’ll call home.

PowerWash Simulator 2 looks amazing.
I really do not like the sound of the power washing equipment. The constant whoosh is annoying as hell. However, it is realistic, and I can’t be too mad. On top of this, the ambient sounds are interesting and well-designed. Although this is relatively basic, PowerWash Simulator 2 looks great. Each building, vehicle, and animal is nicely detailed, and the layers of dirt and grime are a joy to remove. The Xbox Series X has no issues, and I experienced no frame rate drops, screen tears, or animation issues.
If you have played the original, this will be a walk in the park. The control setup is exactly the same, and you’ll get to work immediately. If this is your first rodeo, a helpful tutorial helps you tackle every core element with ease. The levels are big, and unlocking every piece of equipment takes a lot of work. As such, this can be a bit grindy if it isn’t your thing.

PowerWash Simulator 2 is a perfect sequel.
This is a bit of a niche franchise. However, if you love this franchise, this is bound to be a winner. The developer has upped the ante on every level. Moreover, the stage design, equipment, and missions are a vast improvement from its predecessor. Accordingly, it is a no-brainer, and you should grab a copy from the Xbox store!
