I’m not sure what I expected to get when I was offered Xray Customs, but my mind and reality are about a million miles apart. I guess I was hoping for a time-specific, challenging game where you view bags through a monitor and capture the bad guys. However, I was wrong. Unfortunately, it is as fun as watching paint dry. It is repetitive, tedious, and just a little shite.
Jolly Lobster Interactive have published and developed this to-be-missed experience. It feels more like a mobile phone game and lacks depth and quality, consequently. It can only be played alone, and this is a saving grace for any of your friends or family.

Xray Customs asks you to step into the shoes of a border enforcement agent.
Keeping your country and its subsequent transport routes safe is an extremely important job. Therefore, Xray Customs should have offered an insight into this lifestyle. Instead, you’ll yawn repeatedly as you scan every bag.
The aim of the game is straightforward. Bags are presented to you on a conveyor belt, and your job is to use a handheld device to peek inside. This mobile device highlights key items within the luggage, and you must spot whether they are dangerous or not. There is no way to fail, and the only way out is to complete every level or switch off your console.

Boring gameplay.
I have no issue with repetitive action. In fact, I enjoy games that demand grind. However, Xray Customs takes it to the next level. This is grind and boredom due to a lack of depth or challenge. This is unacceptable and something that no gamer will enjoy.
I’m trying to think positively, but I can’t see a glimpse of light from this awful experience. Despite the easy to master gameplay, I’m not sure children will want to play it for more than 5 minutes. Furthermore, completionists will tire of the action around the same time. Therefore, it lacks quality and will not appeal to a large audience.

Xray Customs looks rough.
Although Xray Customs is refined and very basic, it isn’t great to look at. There are several conveyor belts to observe and an array of different-sized luggage. Other than this, there is nothing to pique your interest. It lacks any form of animation, and the game is dull beyond compare. Oddly, though, the music is upbeat and aggressive. I think this is trying to create a sense of drama out of a rather tedious situation. It does work, but it is extremely forced.
The controls are easy to understand. You simply move your scanning device and hit the “A button”. This is the depth of the control system, and a child could master it blindfolded. If I didn’t have to review this, I would have uninstalled it almost immediately. It doesn’t evolve, and pressing 1 button is tiresome. Therefore, it becomes extremely boring in record time.
Xray Customs should be avoided.
I despise it when I must rip a game apart. However, Xray Customs is woeful. The only saving grace is the audio, and this isn’t saying much. The rest of the game is tedious, underwhelming, and one to be avoided. Accordingly, I don’t recommend it, but more information can be found here!
