Beautiful Sakura: Volleyball Club puts players (and I use that term loosely) in the proverbial shoes of Kaito; a young man looking for a new hobby after school. He stumbles upon a volleyball court and comes across two old Michiko and Yuuki, who used to share a tight-knit friendship with him.
Beautiful Sakura: Volleyball Club is overall a straight forward visual novel. You’ll basically be reading a book on your tv while enjoying the anime stylings. Some conversations do have a few conversational choices, but it doesn’t really lead to much. All conversations are without much depth.
The game has a great anime style visual; although it bordelines NSFW type of design. Each of the ladies you’ll conversate with has their own unique style/look. The background, albeit very limited, also look decent and colorful. The soundtrack is a generic stock score that you’ll easily drown out.
While I can find enjoyment in some visual novels, the lack of diverging path and meaningful conversational choices is a bit of a nuisance here. There absolutely no replay value or any reason to replay this because you can even earn all 1000Gs in one shot.
Unless you’re a diehard of visual novels and must play all of them, I can’t recommend Beautiful Sakura: Volleyball Club. There’s just nothing here substansial; no gameplay or any reason to play this more than once for a very easy 1000Gs. No conversational choices, no diverging path to encourage multiple playthroughs. Don’t waste your time or money.
