A brand-new year means a fresh start — and for me, that always includes one of my favourite Complete Xbox traditions: the Annual New Year Gamerscore Challenge.
It’s back for January 2026, and I can’t wait to see who climbs the leaderboard this time around. Whether you’re an Xbox achievement hunter or just love the idea of settling into a few cozy winter gaming sessions, this is your chance to play, compete, and start the year with some serious gamerscore gains.
And yes, I’ll have a steaming mug of Essex Tea by my side — the perfect fuel for long gaming nights and relaxed weekend sessions.
The Challenge: January 1 – 31, 2026
From the first day of January right through to the end of the month, every gamerscore point you earn will count toward your total.
I’ll be tracking everyone’s progress and updating the community throughout the month, highlighting milestones and celebrating those big achievement streaks.
When the dust settles at the end of 31st January, the top three players on the leaderboard will each win Random Digital Xbox Game Codes — indie favourites and hidden gems chosen to keep your library fresh for 2026.

This lets me track your gamerscore accurately and make sure your achievements are logged.
Throughout January, I’ll post weekly leaderboard updates on CompleteXbox.co.uk and across social channels, so you can see who’s in the lead — and who’s closing in fast.
