Indie developer Take It Studio has officially announced that its upcoming first-person psychological horror game, The Green Light, is headed to consoles. Previously announced for PC, the atmospheric title will now be available to players on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
A Descent into Isolation
The Green Light follows the story of Fred, a man suffocated by the monotony of a dead-end job and the crushing weight of a routine life. As the psychological strain takes its toll, Fred’s reality begins to fracture, manifesting as unsettling hallucinations.
His life takes a dramatic turn when a mysterious voice on the radio begins speaking to him, promising freedom, peace, and salvation at a distant green light. Driven by a desperate need to escape his mundane existence, Fred embarks on a journey toward a remote lighthouse that supposedly holds the answers to his torment.
“What begins as a search for relief soon turns into a disturbing journey through isolation, obsession, and the fragile boundaries of the human mind,” the studio shared in a statement.
According to the developers, The Green Light is a heavily narrative-driven experience. The game aims to explore deep, unsettling themes of self-discovery, desperation, and the true cost of freedom. As players guide Fred closer to the lighthouse, the game promises to challenge them with a central, haunting question: Is escape truly worth the price?
Launch Platforms
Take It Studio will handle the console adaptation internally, optimising the psychological horror experience for all major platforms.
