There is always something to talk about in the world of gaming. Here at Complete Xbox, we have been very preoccupied this week with our very own special announcements. Not only did we kick off our very own Complete Xbox podcast which you can listen to HERE, but we also let everyone know about the Complete Xbox community where we are partnering with some fantastic creators. All of this information can be found HERE. What has been new across the board in the world of gaming this week though? Let’s have a gander, shall we?

Xbox

More Redfall talk consumed the airwaves this week as people debated whether there will or won’t be a physical copy of the game inside the box for those who are still all about boxed titles. You’ll be delighted to hear that I will keep this week’s Activision Blizzard free.

  • Redfall will in fact receive a physical copy of the game in the box when it releases in May 2023
  • Diablo IV open BETA dates have been announced, March 17-19 2023 for pre-orders, and March 24-26 is open to everyone
  • Xbox is the first console to offer carbon-aware downloads and updates
  • For every 2 Xbox consoles that switch to Shutdown (energy saving) for one year, the amount of carbon removed is equivalent to 1 tree being planted and grown for 10 years
  • You can now use the Google Home app as a touch remote for your Xbox console
  • The Expanse: A Telltale Game received a trailer and is targeting a 2023 release on Xbox and other platforms
  • Layers Of Fear launches on Xbox in June 2023
  • Lies Of P comes to Xbox consoles in August 2023 and launches straight to Xbox Game Pass
  • Magical Delicacy is announced and comes to Xbox and Xbox Game Pass in 2024
  • Wrestlefest got a new game trailer at IGN fan fest and comes to Xbox in May 2023
  • Read Only Memories: Neurodiver comes to Xbox this summer

PlayStation

Bit quiet on the PlayStation front this week but there is news of a State Of Play looming on the horizon!

  • According to Insider Gaming, Sony is developing some unique PlayStation earbuds
  • The New PS Plus lineup was announced with Horizon Forbidden West, The Quarry, Scarlet Nexus and more coming
  • Some media outlets have been testing the new PSVR2 and have released their reviews ahead of the February 22nd 2023 release

In Other News

With seemingly next to no news for Nintendo this week, there were some other pieces of news floating around.

  • Dead Island 2 has officially gone gold and will now launch a week earlier than expected on April 21st 2023
  • Coffee Talk 2 console edition has officially gone gold
  • Crystal Dynamics and Eidos are anticipating 5 triple-A releases over the next 5 years
  • Ubisoft are intending to be present at this year’s E3 and explained they have a lot to show
  • New studio Wildlight Entertainment is born from some previous Respawn Entertainment developers
  • Tencent has scrapped plans to launch their own VR headset
  • According to Insider Gaming, the next game in the “Metro” series is fully playable and could see a reveal this year with a 2024 launch window
