Bit of a quiet week this week with nothing to really note from the PlayStation or Nintendo side of the fence. I’m sure all the relevant teams are working behind the scenes to gear up for their appropriate showcases around the mid-year point. With none of the big players attending this year’s E3 showing, it remains to be seen when the showcases will be. There are some trickles of news for Xbox and some other key points of information this week, see you on the next one!

Xbox

  • Halo Infinite has had over 1 million forge creations registered
  • Some influencers and creators will be playing Redfall for the first time in a behind-closed-doors event
  • Hi-Fi Rush has a photo mode added in a new update
  • Hellblade 2 had some video coverage this week in a developer diary update from Iceland
  • PC Game Pass preview has launched in 40 new countries across the world making it 86 in total
  • Phil Spencer visited Ninja Theory for some insight on Hellblade 2
  • Phil also says that it was never the intention to remove Call Of Duty from PlayStation should the Activision/Blizzard deal pass
  • Hi-Fi Rush has reached over 2 million total players

  • The Crew franchise has announced 40 million players across the series so far, The Crew Motorfest launches later this year
  • PlayStation sales surpass 30 million, Xbox 18.5 million and Nintendo Switch 119.5 million
  • Microsoft gains 1.8% market share, Sony loses 1.3% to Xbox and Nintendo loses 0.5% 
  • Elden Ring DLC “Shadow of the Erdtree” is now in development
  • EA asked customers if they would be interested in a remake of Dead Space 2 & 3
