Everspace 2 is fast approaching after five years of hard work off the back of the first game’s success. Whilst the first iteration of Everspace was a roguelike with a linear approach, this new instalment is an ambitious open-world title with plenty to discover and explore. The excellent Luke Lohr who is at the helm of Xbox Expansion Pass recently interviewed the CEO and co-founder of ROCKFISH Games Michael Schade to discuss the game ahead of its console release on August 15th 2023. The exciting news for Xbox fans is that the game is heading straight to Xbox Game Pass and runs at a silky smooth 60FPS. The game is also heading to Playstation consoles so those sitting on the Sony side of the fence also get to indulge in this exciting new space experience.

A New Breed Of Space Game

I don’t want to put all of the information from the interview into this article but it is clear to see how much has gone into the development of the game. Luke Lohr has had a wealth of interviews under his belt and always asks really interesting and engaging questions during them, so I was keen to learn more from this one after the amazing console trailer which you can see below! During the 41-minute video, we get to learn about the feedback and loot systems, early access and funding, ship customisation, mission types, console performance and what is on the horizon for 2024.
