CD PROJEKT RED has officially launched The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, offering a massive overhaul to the celebrated 2015 role-playing game. The updated release arrives as a free upgrade for all existing owners of the original game across PC, current-gen consoles, and Nintendo hardware.
More than a decade after Geralt of Rivia’s debut in The Witcher 3, this definitive edition modernizes nearly every aspect of the experience—ranging from technical visuals and animations to character progression, UI, and combat feel. Developed in close collaboration with external studio Yigsoft, the remaster also serves as an entry point for both returning players and newcomers ahead of the studio’s newly announced paid expansion, Songs of the Past, scheduled for 2027.
Free Expansions and Expanded Platform Availability
In addition to core graphical and mechanical upgrades, CD PROJEKT RED has unified the game’s post-launch content. On supported platforms, Remastered permanently replaces the Complete Edition. Furthermore, both award-winning expansions—Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine—are now included at no additional cost for everyone who upgrades, even if they previously owned only the base game.
The update is available to claim across existing storefronts, alongside new platforms:
-
Free Upgrade: GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and a native version on Nintendo Switch 2 for owners of the original Nintendo Switch release.
-
New Purchases: Available now on Battle.net and the Microsoft Store with Xbox Play Anywhere functionality.
