Publisher PQube and developer Full Stop Studios have announced The Detectorist Guild, a cosy village-life RPG scheduled to launch in early 2027. The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S.

Set in the fictional Yorkshire village of Shiverly at the turn of the millennium, the game follows a budding metal detectorist named James. Players will use accurately simulated metal detecting mechanics—complete with adjustable frequency, ground balance, and sensitivity controls – to explore the British countryside, hunt for lost relics, and help eccentric locals find their missing belongings.

A Cosy Exterior with a Dark Secret: While the gameplay offers a low-pressure experience focused on exploration and 90s nostalgia, players will also use discovered clues and the local police database to unravel a dark mystery hidden beneath the village’s charming surface.

Key Gameplay Elements:

  • The Economy of Discovery: Players can donate historical finds to the local museum to uncover Shiverly’s lore, or sell antiques to the village emporium to fund equipment upgrades.

  • Retro-Modern Visuals: The game features a distinct 2.5D art style that blends pixels and voxels to capture a nostalgic British atmosphere.
