Who here remembers Defiance? The old TV Show/videogame crossover from the SyFy channel back in 2013? Well it’s coming back with a new lick of paint and high hopes of breaking into the MMORPG market once again.
Originally releasing on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC with fair to middling reviews can they have success a second time round? Defiance was set in a post apocalyptic version of Earth and featured 3rd person combat as well as crossover content pulled from the show. Think Destiny meets Quantum Break without the space magic and an interesting story and you’re on the right track.
Defiance 2050 was announced back in February and looks to add upgraded graphics, textures and resolution. So hopefully it’ll look a bit fresher but it will still provide the same old content. We’ll also see new a new class and character progression systems, as well as overhauled weaponry.
The TV show however, will not make a return. Damn…
The open beta will run from 20-22nd April and will allow players to try the new assault class. If you’re interested you can sign up here.
