For nearly two years, Obsidian has loved watching over 10 million players survive in the backyard. Bugs, diving bell spiders that actually dwell in the water, and dangerous monsters like the magnificent Broodmother have all been experienced by grounded players. They’ve made armour set after armour set to increase their survivability, tailored their weaponry to fit their play style, and used their base-building abilities to protect against swarms of bugs fed up with the players’ antics. These accomplishments have been great, and all of the gameplay has resulted in some incredible community feedback that will only improve Grounded’s full release in September.

The full release will feature all 12 updates that were previously given as part of the Game Preview/Early Access development, but players will now be able to fully understand the enigmatic story of Grounded and their shrunken-ness. In the fully playable campaign, discover how the teens got into the yard and the crazy scientist behind it – all of which can be enjoyed alone or with a group of friends.

The full release, Version 1.0, will also introduce the upper yard, a completely new area of the Grounded universe. This new part features a lot more of the backyard to explore, as well as new armour and weapon recipes and some secrets that we just can’t bear to reveal to you. No way, we’re going to give something away! The Mantis is a bug that our great community has repeatedly requested. It may be the players’ undoing after making its way into the yard as a new boss.

Grounded will enter its full release in September 2022 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10/11, and Steam
