Macula Interactive is excited to announce that their historical narrative adventure game, Mexico, 1921. A Deep Slumber, will release on September 13 on Steam just in time for Mexican Independence Day and Hispanic Heritage Month. The Xbox release of the game is planned for later in the year. The team has celebrated the news with a new cinematic trailer!

“We at Macula Interactive are very excited to finally share our release date for Mexico, 1921: A Deep Slumber, our first video game as a team,” says Paola Vera, Mácula General Director. “We’ve built an interdisciplinary team that includes historians, cultural managers, filmmakers, and of course, artists, programmers and animators to build what we believe is an interactive archive of Mexican history. Walk through real places in Mexico City and interact with historical documents and characters. Through the life of Juan Aguirre, a young photojournalist you’ll be swept into the transformation of Mexico with the turn of the century and uncover a mystery: Who planned the assassination of President Álvaro Obregón?”

About Mexico, 1921. A Deep Slumber.
Mexico City, 1921. The country is wrapped in the recent consequences of years of conflict and revolution. Álvaro Obregón, leader of the revolution, is now at the head of a country with a brand new social constitution, and a population demanding education and human rights. With the help of intellectuals like José Vasconcelos and artists like Diego Rivera he intends to steer the country to a brighter future. Fast forward 7 years when President Obregón is shot and murdered under mysterious circumstances.

We work closely with the National Newspaper Library and the Popular Arts Museum to create the most exciting and documented historical content.
