Developer Cloth Cat Games and indie publisher Curveball Games have unveiled a fresh look at Planted!, their upcoming multiplayer party game slated for release later this year.

Revealed during today’s Convergence showcase, the new footage highlights the game’s volatile Volcano level, a high-stakes arena where up to four players must dodge molten lava while competing for agricultural supremacy.

In Planted!, players are tasked with sowing, growing, and throwing various types of produce to rack up points. However, the Volcano level introduces a chaotic twist: a hungry “Volcano God” who periodically demands specific vegetables. Failing to deliver the requested crops on time triggers an explosive outburst, raining down fireballs that knock players off their feet and destroy the limited farming space available. Players will have to test their platforming skills by leaping between circling platforms just to keep their crops alive.

The title promises “cultivated chaos” across both digital and physical formats, aiming to blend casual party gameplay with frantic strategy.

Key Features of Planted! Include:

  • Multiplayer & Solo Modes: Supports up to four players in chaotic co-op or a cutthroat solo mode.

  • 8 Unique Environments: The final game will feature eight diverse levels, each packed with distinct challenges, hazards, and mechanics.

  • Interactive Chaos: Players must dodge hazards like “spud turrets” and “weed bombs” while managing their harvest.

  • Character Customisation: A cast of eccentric, styled characters will be available for players to choose from.

Planted! is scheduled to launch later this year. It will be available digitally on Xbox Series X|S.
