MAVRIX, the open-world mountain biking game created from professional rider and Red Bull athlete Matt Jones, is officially shifting out of Early Access. Publisher Cascade Interactive and developer Third Kind Games have announced the game’s full global 1.0 launch will take place on 16th July.
The game will debut on Xbox Series X|S and will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one release as an added bonus.
The full launch marks the culmination of a year spent in Early Access, during which the developers utilised community feedback to refine the game’s mechanics. The 1.0 update introduces significant technical overhauls and a massive injection of new content.
“We’ve worked hard to make the riding feel right – that sense of flow, freedom, and control that defines mountain biking,” said creator Matt Jones. “Opening it all up to so many new players through Game Pass is incredibly exciting.”
What’s New in the Full Release?
The 1.0 update introduces several highly anticipated features designed to heighten the game’s competitive edge and realism:
-
Head-to-Head Modes: New live, real-time multiplayer modes allowing up to four players to compete directly in high-stakes racing or trick-heavy slopestyle events.
-
Daily Rivals: A daily matchmaking feature that pairs players against a similarly ranked rival’s ghost to chase XP boosts.
-
Expanded Map Layouts: The game’s massive 100km² open world now boasts 9 dedicated race trails, 11 slopestyle trails, and numerous freeride lines.
-
Visual and Flow Upgrades: A new animation prediction system allows tricks and jumps to transition more fluidly, while a “Time of Day” setting allows players to ride during “Golden Hour” lighting.
Xbox Game Pass and Play Anywhere Support
By launching directly onto Xbox Game Pass, MAVRIX will leverage Microsoft’s ecosystem to maximize its player base from day one. The game fully supports Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning cross-progression and cloud saves will seamlessly carry over between Xbox consoles, Windows PCs, and compatible gaming handhelds like the ASUS ROG Ally.
For non-Game Pass subscribers, MAVRIX will retail digitally for $39.99 USD / £29.95 GBP and feature full localisation in English, Chinese, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. The final product includes all cumulative content from its Early Access period, including the MAVRIX Cup competitive event series.
