Cozy open-world adventure Outbound has officially released its latest free content expansion, the “Wildlife Update,” bringing a brand-new photography system, expanded fauna, and quality-of-life improvements to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Developers Square Glade Games and publisher Silver Lining Interactive confirmed that a release for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 will follow shortly.
The flagship feature of the update is a craftable camera system, allowing players to document the game’s newly expanded ecosystem of 34 unique animal species distributed across four distinct biomes. Players can acquire the camera blueprint by visiting the new Wildlife Outpost located in the game’s first biome. The camera features customizable settings such as depth of field, exposure, zoom, saturation, and contrast, with all taken photos saved directly to an in-game library.

Wildlife Journal Tracking: The in-game journal now includes a dedicated tab for wildlife collection. Taking a clear photograph of an animal automatically registers the species as collected, while journal previews help players track undiscovered fauna.
