Salvador-based studio Team Zeroth and publisher QUByte Interactive are launching the puzzle-platformer across PC and consoles on August 13, 2026.

While video games have featured famous plumbers for decades, few have ever tasked players with actually doing plumbing work. Indie developer Team Zeroth is setting out to change that with Plungeez, a non-linear 2D metroidvania that strips away traditional combat in favour of spatial logic, environmental navigation, and actual pipe repair.

Published by QUByte Interactive, Plungeez will launch on August 13, 2026, for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S for $9.99 USD, featuring a 15% launch discount during its first week.

Set deep beneath the historic center of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, Plungeez stars Bôni, a fierce municipal water treatment worker who accidentally falls into a forgotten underground labyrinth.

Instead of fighting off subterranean monsters with swords or lasers, Bôni must rely on curiosity, observation, and mechanical problem-solving to escape. Players navigate flooded chambers, ignite ancient furnaces, and restore forgotten water systems without the stress of combat encounters or strict time limits.

True to metroidvania tradition, exploration in Plungeez is gated by the equipment you uncover. However, rather than unlocking double jumps or dash attacks, Bôni builds an arsenal of utility gear:

Dual Plungers: The game’s primary mobility mechanic, allowing Bôni to stick to vertical surfaces and scale the pixel-art labyrinth.

Heavy Wrench: Used to operate valves, open sealed access points, and re-route ancient plumbing channels.

Diving Suit: Grants access to submerged sectors and deep-water puzzle chambers.

As players discover new equipment, previously inaccessible areas throughout Salvador’s subterranean network open up, encouraging backtracking and non-linear exploration.

A playable demo for Plungeez is currently available to download on Steam ahead of its August 13 release.
