The holidays are here, and they’ve spread to the Sea of Thieves, bringing holiday cheer and occasional cannonballs!

This month’s update to Sea of Thieves is the Festival of Giving, and it’s sure to have something for every pirate out on the seas. There are new voyages from the Bilge Rats’ newest member, Stitcher Jim, Generous and Humble gifts to sell to the Masked Stranger on the newly named Reapers Hideout island, and starting 13th of December through to the 24th, a new daily activity to give each pirate a new reason to log on and explore the seas.

There’s new Mercenary Voyage commendations to chase, holiday and hide-n-seek themed emotes to buy, holiday pet clothing options, new merry weaponry skins and a lovely charity initiative where 100% of the proceeds from select Pirate Emporium goods going to the UK based charity, SpecialEffect (www.specialeffect.org.uk)

That’s not all, of course not, the team at Rare have been hard at work to bring some new scary Skeleton Lords that have risen through the ranks of the Skelly hordes to claim their own Skelly Forts, marked by an ominous red skull. These new skellies are pretty tough, and should provide a fun new challenge to crews planning on taking on the forts, they also come with a slew of commendations to chase!

Part II: Electric Boogaloo, Rare have rolled out a bunch of quality of life changes to the game, some involving sword combat, some fixing the spawning rates of Ammo Crates in the wild, but most importantly; vomiting now puts out fires. You heard that right! Drinking grog now is not only a fun way to bond with your crew, but you can be helpful and disgusting at the same time! Check out the Sea of Thieves website for a full breakdown of the patches and balances!

So what are you waiting for Pirates? Grab some friends, grab some loot, have a cheeky grog and hit the seas! YAAARRRRRGH!
