SOEDESCO has confirmed that they have cancelled plans to release Truck Driver: Premium Edition – which had been planned to release on Xbox Series X/S consoles as well as PlayStation 5.

They have made this decision in order to focus on their upcoming Truck Driver: Heading North expansion which will add a brand new Nordic-themed map to the game, as well as adding over 30 new jobs.

‘Ever since we started our development on Truck Driver: Heading North we worked with several great development studios. However, there were some unforeseen ‘bumps on the road’ resulting in the delay of the DLC, which moved back our plans for Truck Driver as a whole. This in turn led us to the decision to cancel the Premium Edition for Truck Driver.

To our community we would like to say: Thank you for the incredible amount support and patience. New Truck Driver information is headed your way, and please note that this is not the end of Truck Driver. Truck Driver is in fact, still Heading North.’

The Heading North expansion for Truck Driver was first unveiled back in July 2021, and it was also given a release date of September 14th 2021. However, just weeks before its release, the DLC was delayed until the end of September 2021, it was then further delayed until a ‘later date’ with technical issues due to patch v1.33 and the DLC lacking polish being cited as the main reasons for the delay.

With the details of the now-sidetracked Premium Edition, this is the first news we have heard about the Heading North DLC in almost 2 years.
