According to a new Variety report, Telltale will move away from its rough edged game engine and opt for using Unity instead.

Known for its rich collection of story narrative titles such as The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead, it’s always been evident that the game engine holds these games back from their full potential, particularly on more recent titles.

The first games to run on the new Unity engine will be The Wolf Among Us: Season Two, which was delayed until 2019. There’s also the unannounced Stranger Things game.

Personally it sounds like a good decision by Telltale, as more recent titles have certainly suffered as the devs have tried to add new gameplay experiences into their titles.
