EA and Full Circle have announced a major crossover between skate. and the X Games, bringing an authentic competition experience to San Vansterdam from July 21 through to August 25.
The limited-time event will see the Stadium, first introduced with Season 4, transformed into X Games San Van, featuring a redesigned competition venue inspired by the MoonPay X Games League Championship course in New Orleans. Players will be able to skate a new street park, tackle a dedicated competition bowl, and drop into a massive vert ramp. The revamped Stadium will remain accessible even after the event concludes.
Alongside the venue makeover, the event introduces a brand-new progression system featuring themed missions, challenges and team-based objectives inspired by iconic moments from X Games history. Several Club Tasks have been designed around signature tricks from professional X Games athletes, with themes based on the skate scenes of Los Angeles, São Paulo, New York and Tokyo.
Adding to the authenticity, professional skateboarder Dashawn Jordan provides voiceover commentary for the event’s challenges, marking the first time an X Games athlete has guided players through in-game objectives.
Competitive multiplayer is also getting an upgrade. Spot Battles return with new twists, while Co-op Challenges now support parties of up to eight players, allowing larger groups to tackle objectives together.
Players who take part in the event can unlock a range of exclusive rewards, including profile backgrounds, player icons and team jerseys representing Los Angeles, São Paulo, New York and Tokyo. Additional X Games League-themed cosmetics will also be available through the in-game store.
Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games, said the collaboration is designed to give players the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a real X Games competition while representing their clubs on an authentic recreation of the championship course.
The X Games San Van event runs from July 21 until August 25 and will be available to all skate. players as part of Season 4, which continues through August 25.
