A tale of revenge and hatred is as old as time. However, the thought of feet hating a world-famous hand is a little leftfield for my liking. Thankfully, the physics-based gameplay and short, crazy levels were enough to overcome the bizarre nature of the story. Super Adventure Hand is a quick-to-complete experience that will have you laughing, cursing, and frowning at the weird moments.

DevM Games has developed this 3D physics-based platforming adventure. It is a single-player title that focuses on minor puzzles, quick reactions, parkour elements, and plenty of collectables. As the levels progress, things quickly become heated and more challenging. Furthermore, it takes a calm head if you wish to find every thimble and unlock every cosmetic item.

Super Adventure Hand tells a strange story.

You play the role of a hand who was a glove salesperson and a hand model. Sadly, your best friend “Arm” has been “armknapped” by a jealous group of angry feet. Accordingly, you will not let this happen as you undertake a whacky adventure to rescue your friend and seek revenge on each of the evil feet.

The strange plot sticks with you, but it has little to do with the overall action. Instead, it is the blend of obstacles, collectables, parkour layers, and other key bits that keep you busy. On top of this, there is a timer to check how fast you are and to maximise your score. Although the time is the least of your concerns, it was fun trying to get 3 stars on each level.

Nicely balanced.

Super Adventure Hand offers a nice blend of challenging layers to test the best players. With fire to avoid, massive chasms to leap, feet to outrun, mini hands to control, and plenty of other strange elements to master, this offers enough variety to keep you entertained.

I’m not much of a completionist, but I liked how the collectables added some nice cosmetic extras. New skins, rings, nail varnish, and other items help to keep your look fresh. Furthermore, finding every thimble wasn’t that easy, so it increased the difficulty without making things too tedious.

Super Adventure Hand delivers nice, but occasionally flawed visuals.

Super Adventure Hand offers a reasonably polished experience with some nice 3D visuals. Additionally, the developer shows a nice attention to detail with some fun and silly elements as you falter and fail during each level. However, the camera is a little janky, and I found it hanging and lagging in tight spots. The audio is surprisingly dramatic, and this doesn’t quite match the weird nature of the plot. Although I enjoyed the often OTT music, I’d have liked it to be more lighthearted.

The controls weren’t always great. They felt somewhat clunky, and the hero didn’t move as smoothly as I’d have liked. Thankfully, you can overcome many of these issues with practice, but it felt a little rushed and underdeveloped. With no online leaderboard, competitive gamers will be left frustrated. It would have been nice to see how you compared with others, but this wasn’t to be. Instead, you must focus on 3 stars, some thimbles, and little else.

Super Adventure Hand lacks depth.

I liked the weird and wonderful nature of Super Adventure Hand. However, it lacks serious depth. Subsequently, it is more of a casual game that can be completed in around 2 hours. If you wish to find everything and collect 3 stars on every level, this extends to around 6 hours. I was okay with this, but many gamers will want much more for their money. Accordingly, despite this issue, I like it, and I recommend grabbing a copy from the Xbox store!
