Developer and publisher Digital Extremes has revealed new details about Warframe’s upcoming narrative update, Jade Shadows: Constellations, set to launch free on all platforms on June 17.

The update introduces one of the game’s most ambitious additions yet: Sirius & Orion, Warframe’s 65th playable Warframe and the first to feature two distinct characters sharing a single frame. Players will be able to switch between the rival entities on the fly, combining their unique abilities while navigating a story that explores their conflict and intertwined fate.

According to Warframe Community Director Megan Everett, the development team pushed creative boundaries with both the gameplay design and narrative structure of the update.

“This is the first time we’ve tried a sequel Quest and a two-in-one character this way,” Everett said during the latest developer livestream. “The player’s choices in the first Jade Shadows Quest are reflected throughout scenes in this new Quest, making their role in the story more important than ever.”

Sirius & Orion Bring Two Playstyles Into One Warframe

At the heart of Jade Shadows: Constellations is the ability to swap between Sirius and Orion at will, with both characters sharing a passive mechanic that generates constellation motes tied to their abilities.

Sirius specializes in support and area control, wielding a throwable scythe that can collect resources, creating unstable stars that detonate against enemies, and generating healing zones that provide damage reduction for allies.

Orion, meanwhile, focuses on aggressive offense. His abilities include a powerful defense-shredding slash attack, an astral shield that deploys decoys when damaged, and a devastating black hole capable of pulling enemies into its gravitational center.

The pair’s ultimate ability sees them clash mid-air, damaging enemies caught in their path. Properly timing swaps between the two characters increases the attack’s power with each successive use.

New Story Quest Unlocks Railjack Battles in Uranus Proxima

The update’s new story quest expands Warframe’s Railjack content with missions set in Uranus Proxima.

Players will encounter two new Protoframes, Ryoku (Ash) and Vena (Garuda), and choose sides in a conflict between alternate timelines. The quest allows players to pilot custom Railjack ships from each timeline and engage in ship-to-ship combat against rival forces.

Completing the quest will also reward players with a new timeline-themed scythe weapon, known as either Pride or Wrath depending on its origin.

In addition, five new Incarnon weapons will be introduced:

  • Destreza
  • Obex
  • Stug
  • Ballistica
  • Vectis

Each weapon will feature unique Incarnon upgrades, including abilities such as ricocheting projectiles, phantom blade summons, and radial attacks.

Styanax Prime Access Arrives Alongside the Update

Launching alongside Jade Shadows: Constellations is Styanax Prime Access.

The upgraded Prime version of the spear-wielding warrior features enhanced stats and arrives with two Prime weapons:

  • Afentis Prime Speargun
  • Athodai Prime Pistol

Players will also be able to obtain new Prime cosmetics, including the Lanex Prime Syandana and Daurus Prime Armour set. As with previous Prime releases, the content can either be purchased instantly or earned through gameplay.

New Cosmetics and Mesa Heirloom Release Date Confirmed

The update will introduce a range of new cosmetics inspired by the alternate futures featured in the story, including weapon skins, Railjack cosmetics, and Protoframe hairstyles for Operators and Drifters.

Digital Extremes also confirmed that Mesa Heirloom, the latest entry in Warframe’s premium Heirloom cosmetic collection, will release on July 11 during TennoCon 2026.

The developer additionally teased an upcoming collaboration with Los Angeles fashion house ARK/8, which will include Warframe-inspired apparel and a special pop-up experience, with further details expected closer to launch.
