Xbox Series X|S owners looking for more storage have another option to consider, with SanDisk officially entering the Xbox Expansion Card market with three new models.
The company has unveiled its Optimus GX C50 Storage Expansion Cards for Xbox, available in 512GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities. The new cards are officially licensed for Xbox Series X|S and are designed to offer the same high-speed performance as the consoles’ internal SSDs.
According to SanDisk, the Optimus GX C50 cards use technology based on Xbox Velocity Architecture, allowing players to run Xbox Series X|S optimised games directly from the expansion card.
“Built with a super-speed core that leverages XBOX Velocity Architecture™ to deliver extremely fast, low-latency performance that matches the console’s internal SSD, so you can play your AAA games directly off the card.”
SanDisk is also including some additional bonuses with the new cards, with buyers receiving a one-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate trial and one month of Discord Nitro.
How Much Do The New Xbox Expansion Cards Cost?
Unfortunately, the new SanDisk cards aren’t exactly cheap.
The current pricing is:

When Will The SanDisk Expansion Cards Be Available?
The three Optimus GX C50 models are already listed on SanDisk’s website, although they haven’t officially launched just yet. It shouldn’t be too long before the cards become available to purchase.
And with SanDisk now joining Seagate and WD Black, the future of Xbox Expansion Cards looks considerably healthier than it perhaps did back in 2020.
