Popular simulation publisher Aerosoft and developer Z-Software have officially announced Autobahn Police Simulator 4, the latest instalment in their long-running police simulation franchise.

Set to launch in 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the new title promises to be the largest and most detailed entry in the series’ decade-long history.

In Autobahn Police Simulator 4, players take on the role of a German police officer tasked with patrolling a massive, fully drivable open world. The expanded map features unrestricted stretches of the famous German Autobahn, winding rural roads, industrial hubs, mountain regions, and lively towns.

What to Expect: Dynamic Patrols and Career Progression

The upcoming title shifts to a more player-driven experience, where routine calls can quickly escalate. Key gameplay features include:

  • Dynamic Emergencies: Respond to real-time radio calls ranging from routine traffic stops and cargo inspections to high-speed pursuits and major accident scenes.

  • In-Depth Investigations: Pull over suspicious vehicles, inspect driver documents, perform roadside sobriety checks, and search vehicles for hidden offenses.

  • Expanded Map & Fleet: Explore a broader open-world environment featuring multiple unlockable police stations. Players will operate standard patrol cars, unmarked units for discreet surveillance, and specialized vehicles.

  • Career Progression: By following official procedures and successfully completing dispatches, players earn reputation points to climb the police ranks and unlock new gear, side missions, and special operations.

The franchise originally launched in 2015, focusing on a 40-kilometer stretch of highway. Subsequent sequels expanded the formula by adding a full career campaign, living police stations, motorcycle patrols, and working police dogs. Autobahn Police Simulator 4 aims to combine these systems into a seamless open-world career simulation.

Autobahn Police Simulator 4 will be available in both digital and physical boxed formats for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Further details regarding exact release dates, pricing, and system requirements will be shared by Aerosoft later in the year.
