Vancouver-based indie developer Charm Games – the studio behind acclaimed immersive titles FORM and Twilight Path—has officially announced its next project, The Orphaned House. The upcoming first-person puzzle adventure is set to release on Xbox Series X|S in 2027.

Shifting away from combat and traditional character dialogue, The Orphaned House leans heavily on environmental storytelling and intricate, tactile interactions. Players awaken inside a mysterious, shifting house with no recollection of how they arrived. To uncover the truth behind the residence, players must explore room by room, examining objects, solving spatial puzzles, and reacting to an environment that dynamically responds to their presence.

Charm Games aims to build on its track record of creating deeply physical, interactive worlds where the mechanics themselves serve the narrative.

“Everything we learned crafting deeply tactile, immersive experiences goes into this game,” said Alan Jernigan, Studio Director at Charm Games. “The interaction, the atmosphere, the details that do the storytelling. Bringing that to PC and console feels like the moment we have been building toward.”

While the full game won’t arrive until 2027, players won’t have to wait that long for a trial run. Charm Games confirmed that a playable demo is scheduled to launch later this year, giving fans their first hands-on look at the house’s mechanics ahead of release.

Interested players can watch the debut teaser trailer and add The Orphaned House to their wishlist now on Steam, PlayStation Network, and the Epic Games Store, with Xbox store pages opening soon.
