Following a successful Steam launch on March 6 that earned a 94% positive rating across 2,000+ reviews, sci-fi mining game AETHUS is heading to consoles. Developer Pawsmonaut Games has partnered with Spanish porting studio Making Port to bring the title to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Microsoft Store on Windows, and ROG Ally in early 2027.

What to Expect

  • The Story: Players control Maeve, a former megacorp mining engineer who strikes out on her own with an AI companion. As she mines deeper underground, she uncovers clues about a failed scientific expedition and a dark corporate conspiracy.

  • Gameplay: Focused on relaxed exploration and narrative over heavy combat, players use lasers, drills, and explosives to collect ore, upgrade gear, and build modular outposts with refining stations and hydroponic farms.

  • Developer Philosophy: Created by Scottish solo developer Alex Kane (a former Rockstar North AAA veteran), AETHUS features no generative AI, no Early Access, and no microtransactions.

AETHUS is out now on Steam, with console and Microsoft Store releases arriving early 2027.
