Publisher Hooded Horse and developer ShoulderByte have officially announced that their upcoming roguelike siege defense deckbuilder, Drill Keeper, is set to launch into Early Access in Q3 2027. Revealed during the ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase, the game will be available Day One on PC Game Pass, alongside releases on Steam, GOG, and the Microsoft Store. Accompanying the announcement, a brand-new trailer showcased updated visuals and teased a brand-new hero faction: the Rotborn.
Created by solo developer Dennis “Denno” Strümpel, Drill Keeper combines the intelligent fun of deckbuilding with the twin joys of prospecting and base defense. Players combine cards, artifacts, and runes to power strategic runs, using their deck to modify their drill and erect mining fortresses capable of fending off relentless alien swarms.
The action takes place across fully destructible worlds throughout the galaxy, where players must delve underground to unearth untold treasures. The primary goal is to extract as much wealth as possible from each operation before it is inevitably swallowed by the abyss.
Drill Keeper arrives in Early Access in Q3 2027 on PC Game Pass, Steam, GOG, and the Microsoft Store.
