Pack your bags and ready your brooms: Chucklefish has officially announced that its highly anticipated magical life-sim, Witchbrook, will release on January 28, 2027.

The launch date for Chucklefish’s fourth in-house title – developed in partnership with Robotality – was revealed alongside a brand-new gameplay trailer during today’s Nintendo Indie World showcase. In addition to the date, Chucklefish revealed that a PlayStation 5 version will join the previously announced console line-up.

At launch, Witchbrook will be available for $24.99 across PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The title will also launch Day One on Xbox Game Pass. Regional pricing is set to be confirmed closer to release.

Welcome to Mossport

In Witchbrook, players step into the shoes of a witch-in-training arriving at Witchbrook College, located in the charming seaside town of Mossport. Students will attend classes, complete assignments, and prepare for exams across a variety of magical disciplines, including:

  • Alchemy & Potion-Making

  • Astrology & Tarot Reading

  • Rituals and Spellcasting

As players progress toward graduation, they will unlock new spells and magical abilities. Beyond the classroom, students can start their own local witch business, renovate and decorate a cosy woodland cottage, or customise their character’s appearance with various outfits, hairstyles and accessories.

For players looking to unwind between exams, Mossport offers a variety of extracurricular activities. You can join student clubs, attend seasonal town events, go fishing, catch bugs, or try birdwatching.

Romance, Community, and Co-Op Play

Witchbrook features a colourful cast of local townspeople and fellow students, offering rich social gameplay where players can forge deep friendships or pursue romance.

Players won’t have to experience the magic alone, either. Witchbrook features up to 4-player online co-op, allowing friends to explore Mossport, study, and decorate together.

The newly released trailer offers a glimpse into student life, showcasing library research, salve preparation, tarot readings, and some of the magical creatures inhabiting Mossport.

Witchbrook launches January 28, 2027 on PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
