Welcome to Snapshot! In a nutshell – Snapshot is a little feature that provides a snapshot of information on a game that we have checked out or have been playing recently. The article will feature screenshots, and a general overview of our opinion of the game.

Much like our Daddio-In-Chief Mr. Dave Law, I would also settle on a score of around 75. Overall, Scars Above is a decent and enjoyable double-A title.

A Sci-Fi third-person shooter that has some pretty neat ideas and enough variety to keep the gameplay fresh throughout. Developed by Madhead Games, it certainly has some souls-like characteristics about it. Especially where bosses are concerned, as I found myself trying to fire off a couple of shots and then roll out of the way o then rinse and repeat. Scars Above does enough to be enjoyable whilst not trying to cram too much in. Gunplay can be fun with a lot of variety in alien enemies you will encounter. Enough variety in biomes to please the player and even throwing in some environmental hazard like battling hypothermia in the midst of a boss battle is an excellent albeit frustrating challenge.

Throw in a healthy dose of riddles, puzzles, and problem-solving and Scars Above is a decent package. Whilst I wouldn’t say it’s anything to shout home about, it’s definitely worth a look especially if you consider yourself a Sci-Fi fanatic.

You’ll play as Kate Ward, a SCAR team member while she’s trying to discover what happens during an extra-terrestrial accident. An engaging enough story for sure. Visually it’s a little spotty. Kate can look pretty good with some environments looking better than others but we don’t need every game to be a visual masterpiece. The visuals are much like the rest of the game, decent.

Overall Scars Above is one to keep an eye on as I did enjoy my time with it. Although achievements hunters keep in mind, there are some buggy achievements. Upon completing Scars Above after about 15 hours, I didn’t unlock the achievement for completing the game, annoyingly.

Go check out Scars Above!
