During the early years of Xbox, I use to buy OXM (The Official Xbox Magazine) I even contributed from time to time. I used to love reading gaming magazines with my cup of coffee, it’s such a shame that they have all disappeared, but such is the way of the digital world, even newspapers aren’t as popular as they use to be.

I loved all the articles gaming magazines produced, the lengths they went to0, the reviews and the previews etc, but there’s one feature I miss, and that was following Kitt Alpha’s (Kirsten Kearney) My X Life. I’ve missed it so much, that I thought I’d give it a new lease of life as a Completexbox feature.

So welcome to Dave’s X Life. Dave’s X Life is a short feature blog post, where I note down all the things that I’ve been getting up to recently, regarding Xbox.

X Life

For my first X Life post, I thought I’d let you know that Xbox has played a massive part in the Christmas present department, with myself and my children receiving Xbox related gifts from good old Santa.

I received a couple of games, one being Evil West, which is a very special game, an Xbox gift card, an Xbox controller skin, Xbox controller charging pack, and other gaming related items such as lighting for my streaming adventures on Twitch, and an Assassin’s Creed Valhalla themed tankard.

As for actual games played over the Christmas period, I’ve been sinking my teeth into NFS: Unbound, Evil West, and GOD Ragnarök – yes, I know it’s a PS5 game, but I’m a gamer, and a multiplatform one at that. Competition breeds success, and for everything Xbox gets right in the gaming industry, I’ll be honest, single player first party story-based adventures have been lacking, and for a long time.

What’s Coming up

A few things are on the horizon – First up is the ongoing Annual Completexbox Gamerscore challenge, something we hold every year at Completexbox. So, that means I’ll be playing various titles from my backlog in order to maintain a respectable position. My current game for this at the moment is Lego: The Incredibles, something I’ve roped the wife into playing with me.
