The eerie, post-apocalyptic world of Atomfall is coming to the small screen. Following its massive success at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards—where it took home the prestigious Best British Game trophy—Two Brothers Pictures and Rebellion have officially announced a television co-production based on the hit survival-action title.
A Distinctly British Apocalypse
Inspired by the real-world Windscale disaster of 1957, Atomfall reimagines the British landscape through the lens of nuclear paranoia and folk horror.
Set within a walled, militarized Quarantine Zone in the Lake District, the story follows a protagonist who awakens with no memory of their past. While the rest of the world carries on, the zone has devolved into a strange, unsettling ecosystem where ancient mythology and competing factions collide.
From Console to Camera
The TV series aims to expand on the game’s rich lore, which has already captivated over 3.7 million players worldwide. The project brings together two of the UK’s most successful pairs of siblings.
“Atomfall has such a distinctive British tone and setting,” said Harry and Jack Williams. “It’s been a real joy developing it alongside the Rebellion team—especially as two brothers working alongside two brothers. There’s something very exciting about expanding this strange, unsettling story for television.”
Jason Kingsley CBE, CEO of Rebellion, added:
“Harry and Jack demonstrated a clear love for Atomfall, even discussing their own gameplay endings with us. We are sure this partnership will deliver a series that delights fans of the game and new audiences alike.”
The series promises to remain faithful to the game’s “folk-horror-meets-sci-fi” roots while exploring the mysteries of the Lake District in haunting new detail.
