Activision have confirmed during a earnings call that this year’s Call of Duty title is being developed by Infinity Ward and will include a single player campaign.
This will come as good news to a lot of Call of Duty fans after some were disappointed at the exclusion of a single player campaign from Black Ops 4 last year. Black Ops 4, which was developed by Treyarch, instead came packaged with a Zombies Mode, Online Versus Multiplayer and Blackout which was the Call of Duty series take on the Battle Royale genre.
No other details were shared about this year’s entry to the series other than the inclusion of a single player and the developer of the game, the latter of which should not come as a surprise as Call of Duty operates in a 3 year development cycle between Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Treyarch. Infinity Ward’s last entry to the series was Infinite Warfare back in 2016.
