In what may seem very unsurprising, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has taken the number one spot in the UK gaming chart.

The game launched on Friday and another interesting statistic from this was that 43 per cent of sales were on Xbox One, with another 48 per cent on PlayStation 4. So it does look like there are more new current-gen console owners now. I guess a more important question is should PS3 and Xbox 360 still be supported with new titles?

Also in the charts was Call of Duty: Ghosts at number 10, so Activision will be very delighted to have two games from the same franchise in the top ten.

Meanwhile, in number 2 was FIFA 16, whilst Need for Speed drifted in third. Halo 5: Guardians suddenly dropped off significantly at 4, whilst Assassin’s Creed Syndicate came in at 5 this week.

  1. I don’t think anyone should be surprised that BO3 was top of the list, but what was interesting is that it still had a strong following by Xbox owners, they said they were worried with the exclusivity going to PS4, this may have hindered sales on Xbox, I’m glad that didn’t happen!!!!
