505 Games and Remedy Entertainment will be releasing Control: Ultimate Edition digitally for Xbox One on September 10th. They are also planning a physical release at a later time. The Ultimate Edition includes the base game along with both post-release DLC: The Foundation and AWE.

If you buy Control Ultimate Edition, you’ll be able to benefit from the Xbox Series X version via the Smart Delivery program. Unfortunately, if you have the original release, you will not be able to upgrade to the Xbox Series X version.

Looks like Remedy found a way to circumvent the Smart Delivery program. It’s a bad move to leave early adopters of your game in the dust like this; especially how bad the frame rate was. Suits me fine as I found Control to be one of this generation’s worst game given its stuttering frame rate and hair pulling checkpoint system.

If you feel like it, you can join Remedy Entertainment’s Creative Director Sam Lake and Control Game Director Mikael Kasurinen live on Twitch tomorrow Thursday, August 13 at 5:00 pm. BST where the two will offer an exclusive first look at the opening 15-minutes of the AWE expansion gameplay.
