In the last hour Major Nelson has announced that four new titles have been available on the Backwards Compatibility programme. The four games in question? Half-Life 2: The Orange Box, Portal: Still Alive and Left4Dead 1&2.

These are absolute classics from the 360 era and they’re all worth playing if you somehow missed them or even if you want to revisit some excellent pieces of history.

The Orange Box itself would have been great but to get the rest is just great. Hang on? Does this mean Valve might be announcing Half-Life 3, Portal 3 and Left4Dead 3? Probably not, but we can keep hoping.
