One of my favourite platformers of the last few years is getting a release on Xbox One. Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition is due to launch on 25th September so get it marked in your calendar!
The Xbox release will contain all of the previously released DLC which has added a ton of additional bosses and areas to explore.
For the uninitiated, Hollow Knight is a metroidvania that borrows some ideas from Dark Souls. Dying means you drop your XP and you can recover it by returning to your body, bosses are huge and terrifying and even the lowest of enemies can end your game in an instant. The story and lore are all told by the world and the things you can find within and the whole thing is just a delight to play.
It’s another indie darling that originally launched on PC and recently found success on Switch but don’t let that put you off. It looks beautiful, the controls are tight and it’s a really rewarding experience.
