For the uninformed, Just Shapes & Beats is the critically acclaimed musical bullet-hell based on two simple things: shapes, and beats. The game has been nominated for a multitude of awards over the course of the past 4 years, including an IGF nomination and “most accurate and self explanatory title of all time”, it won neither but it’s the thought that counts. Today is also the 4th anniversary of the game’s launch, which is wild.
The game will ship on Xbox in its “as definitive of an edition as it can be for now” Edition, and includes every single content update that has been added on any platform. These updates include the Hardcore mode abd over 50 tracks including the Shovel Knight & Undertale collabs– it’s all in there for you to feast your eyeballs and earballs on.
You can play however the heck you want: Got friends coming over? We got couch-coop for y’all. Got no friends but would love to play with people? We gotchu with our online matchmaking system; you don’t even have to talk to anyone, the game will do the work for you. Even if you just want to play on your own, you can enjoy all the game has to offer, which includes a full-fledged Story Mode, Challenge Runs that play like a gauntlet of random tracks, a Playlist mode where you can practice, and even a party mode where you can just lose yourself to the beat.
