A new gameplay trailer for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival offers fans a chilling look at the next chapter in the iconic horror franchise – and introduces a deadly new puzzle box known as the Genesis Configuration.
The upcoming survival-horror action game, developed by Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games, is scheduled to launch later this year for Xbox Series X|S.
Since the beginning of the Hellraiser saga, the infamous Lament Configuration has served as the gateway to Hell, summoning Pinhead and the Cenobites. In Hellraiser: Revival, players will instead wield the Genesis Configuration, a new puzzle box that functions as both a weapon and a tool for exploration.
According to the newly released gameplay footage, the Genesis Configuration allows players to manipulate environments within the Labyrinth, opening hidden pathways and solving puzzles across both the underworld and the mortal realm.
Combat also plays a major role in the game’s mechanics. Players can execute enemies to collect “Suffering,” which fuels a range of supernatural abilities tied to the Genesis Configuration. Among those powers are Telekinesis, which lets players hurl environmental objects such as saw blades and rail spikes at enemies, and Pyrokinesis, which channels fire to destroy foes and scorch the environment.
The trailer also showcases one of the franchise’s most recognisable elements: the Hell Chains, which can be summoned to violently tear apart enemies.
In addition to the standard release, the publishers announced two Collector’s Editions featuring exclusive licensed collectibles. Pre-orders are now available through the game’s official website.
