Publisher and developer Rocket Panda Games have revealed the multiplayer features coming to Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate (PBBGU) when it launches on April 17th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The beloved 2D side-scrolling action game originally launched on Xbox 360 and is now returning to current systems, powered by Unreal Engine 5. Delivering significant enhancements for players, including enhanced graphics, improved frame rates, higher resolutions, and new characters, with the inclusion of enemies as playable characters in Arcade Mode, as well as a full soundtrack remaster.

Alongside these technical enhancements, Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate also offers a plethora of multiplayer modes, both online and local, specially designed for beat’em up fans. Up to 4 players can enjoy couch coop sessions, or connect with 6 friends online with cross-platform multiplayer. Online VS mode is also available for up to 8 players* for those who prefer to unleash their inner chaotic competitiveness.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate is set to launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on April 17th, 2025.
